Stingers Lose to 1837 BBC, 3-2
|
The Toledo Stingers got a superb performance from pitcher Víctor García, but the 1837 BBC still won the game, 3-2. García was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Francisco Valdés picked up the save, his 10th. The 7th-place 1837 BBC improved to 17-20.
In the bottom of the 7th, third baseman Mark McClear gave Houston the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The 1837 BBC had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out double off Toledo pitcher Víctor García changed that -- and Houston went on to win.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds, "let me know."
