Ryan 3-4 as Gold Sox Squeeze Past New Amsterdam
Dutch Master Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Chicago Gold Sox and the New Amsterdam Republics.

Getting a good performance from left fielder Arthur Ryan, the Chicago Gold Sox defeated the New Amsterdam Republics, 9-3. Ryan went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Gold Sox. Raúl Areola earned the win for Chicago. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 10-7.

Ryan came through with some timely hitting for Chicago. With the score 1-0 in the top of the first and one down, Ryan hit a 3-1 cutter for a bases-clearing double. It was his 11th double of the season -- and a big reason the Gold Sox managed to win.

"It feels good to get that win," said Ryan. "Now it's on to the next one."
