José Díaz left his imprint on the 7-3 Galesburg win against the Hammond Herons. Díaz, who is tied for 9th in the 3A in triples with 4, belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Galesburg reliever Wyatt Meek picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Pancho Mastache shouldered the loss. Ernst Chia got credit for the save for Galesburg. It was his 11th of the year.

Díaz contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he drew a walk. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped Galesburg get the win.
