The Cattle Pen was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Ft. Worth Cattlemen and the Buckhead Bowties.

The Ft. Worth Cattlemen got a stellar performance from pitcher Paul Díaz, who handcuffed the Buckhead offense en route to a 5-2 win at The Cattle Pen. In 8.1 innings, Díaz surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Jason Horne closed the door for Ft. Worth, picking up his 5th save of the year.

Tied up with the Bowties in the bottom of the sixth, the Cattlemen got a boost from first baseman Bart Lewis. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Lewis saw a full count fastball from Ramón Torres and hit a 3-run home run to break the stalemate and put Ft. Worth on top, 4-1.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Ft. Worth Cattlemen manager Scott Thompson.

Ft. Worth, at 14-13, sits in 4th place in the Division II.
