Cattlemen Topple Northern Lions BC as Trevino Shines
|
A 6-RBI performance from the 31-year old first baseman Orlando Trevino helped the Ft. Worth Cattlemen beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 10-3. Francisco López got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Juan Sánchez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Trevino contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Ft. Worth in the top of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Trevino took a changeup from Mauro Guerra and stroked the home run to right-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Cattlemen to leap in front, 3-2.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Trevino said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
The Cattlemen, at 12-12, sit in 5th place in the Division II.
