Airmen Suffer 6-0 Setback
|
Alameda had no answer for Hogsmeade Cauldrons starter Marcos Oquendo, who flummoxed Airmen hitters as the Cauldrons cruised to a 6-0 victory. Oquendo, now 12-5, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 11, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. The save went to Victor Garling, his 5th this season.
Estefan Carrasco, the Hogsmeade first baseman, contributed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 4-0, Cauldrons. For the game, Carrasco went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Oquendo.
The Cauldrons saw their win-loss record go to 44-49. At the same time, the Airmen fall to 39-54.
