Blaze Need Extra Frames to Get Past Airmen
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at The Ballpark on the Beach today.
South Beach Blaze starter Malulani Anakone was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Alameda Airmen, 4-3. The Blaze, at 43-43, sit in 5th place in the Premier A.
Late in the game, first baseman José Rico had a big at-bat for South Beach. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Billy Mays. The play gave the Blaze a 4-3 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Rico.
