The Blaze faced a stiff challenge from Alameda pitcher Miguel Cabañas, but persevered to claim a win at The Ballpark on the Beach. The final score was 3-2. Cabañas went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. With the win over Alameda, the Blaze improved to 42-43.
Mark Keys was the walk-off hero for South Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the South Beach third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Keys called the triumph "a good team win."
