|
In a tight game between the Walla Walla Walleye and the Nebraska Plainsmen, pitcher Ambrose Randall was terrific on the mound. The Walla Walla right-hander was named the player of the game in Walla Walla's 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Randall, now 4-4. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Fernando Barraza earned his 3rd save in 3 chances.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Fernando Barraza didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Nebraska trailing 3-1, Barraza retired Mike Thompson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Barraza, with a wink.
Walla Walla leads the Premier A by 3˝ games.
