Black Cats Lose to Blaze in Walk Off
|
The South Beach Blaze electrified The Ballpark on the Beach with a thrilling, walk-off win.
Malulani Anakone pitched a masterpiece in leading South Beach to a 4-0 victory over the Gwinnett County Black Cats. The Blaze improved to 40-41.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 0-0, catcher Martinus Xhaka won it for South Beach. With the bases loaded, Xhaka hit a first pitch fastball from Rafael Méndez for a grand slam home run, giving his team a 4-0 win.
"We put together a nice win," Xhaka said.
