Bowties Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
The Buckhead Bowties electrified the home crowd at Buckhead Grounds with a walk-off win.
The Bowties had to overcome a fine performance from Grafton pitcher Robbie Baxter to grab a 3-2 win at Buckhead Grounds. Baxter went 7.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. The Buckhead Bowties are off to a tough start, getting just their 8th win in 21 games.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the 11th, Tony Martínez had a chance to end it. Grafton pitcher Domingo Álvarez had other ideas. But with no outs, Martínez hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Bowties had the walk-off win.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
