Blaze Win Again, Extend Streak to 6
|
South Beach first baseman José Rico was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Yellowknife Dragonblood. Rico, who is tied for 4th in the PA with a .393 on-base percentage, went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Blaze. Rob Ford earned the win for South Beach. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 8-6. The Blaze have now won 6 straight.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth. That's when Adrián Zamudio hit a double. The Blaze went on to win.
"This team is real focused right now," said South Beach Blaze manager Justin Trewhells.
