Baker Mayfield never let the Nebraska Plainsmen find their groove. Throughout the game, Mayfield, who is tied for 2nd in the PA in innings pitched with 136.2, relied on his bread and butter, his sinker, in pitching the Generals to a win. Washington reliever Arnold Safi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Sam Groves shouldered the loss. The Generals improved to 31-43.

Washington won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when pinch hitter Ricardo Bruno hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Generals fans to their feet.

In postgame comments, Bruno said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
