The South Beach Blaze stymied the Washington Generals, 4-2, at The Ballpark on the Beach. Martinus Xhaka, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for South Beach. Reid Garrett was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save. The 'W' lifts South Beach's record to 33-39.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the seventh when Xhaka hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Blaze into the lead, 4-2.
Washington manager Jacob Curtis said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
