Loss Extends Alameda Losing Streak
|
In a tight game between the Yellowknife Dragonblood and the Alameda Airmen, pitcher Emershan Naidoo was terrific on the mound. The Yellowknife right-hander was named the player of the game in Yellowknife's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Naidoo, now 6-3. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 12. Earning his 12th save of the year was Víctor Solís.
Also contributing to the win was catcher Steven Mitchell, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first for Yellowknife. For the game, Mitchell was 2-4 with a double.
"This is a very good team," said Mitchell. "We have the chance to do something special."
Alameda is trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
