Walleye Jolt Plainsmen with Late Rally

The Nebraska Plainsmen got a superb performance from pitcher Ramón Luér, but the Walleye still won the game, 5-4. Luér was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Walla Walla reliever Bartolo Ruíz was credited with the win, to go to 5-3. Kent Scalici took the loss for Nebraska. Juan Deliz nailed down his 14th save.
Walla Walla grabbed control in the top of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, Kenneth Noid delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Walleye.
"We take it day by day here," said Noid, "and today was a good one for us."
Walla Walla improves to 42-25 with the win. They lead their division by 2½ games.
