Generals Fall Short, 6-5, at Gwinnett County
|
The Gwinnett County Black Cats downed the Washington Generals, 6-5, at Pipers Ballpark. Ramón Vega led the way, going 3-for-3 for Gwinnett County. Gwinnett County reliever Nick Fowler picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tyrone Marone absorbed the loss. Earning his 1st save for Gwinnett County was José Quintero.
Juan León, the Gwinnett County designated hitter, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 6-5, Black Cats. For the game, León went 1 for 4.
Vega told the Gwinnett County Today: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
The Black Cats raised their record to 28-35.
