The Alameda Airmen beat the Yellowknife Dragonblood, 6-3, at The Dragon Den. Alameda first baseman Bob Maher earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Reynaldo Maestas earned the save for Alameda, his 12th of the year. Alameda has now won 3 straight, while the Dragonblood have lost 3 in a row.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fifth when Maher, who is tied for 6th in the PA with a .394 on-base percentage, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Airmen into the lead, 4-3.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Maher said after the game.
