River Rats Stick Black Cats with 5-3 Loss
|
Columbia beat Gwinnett County, 5-3. The win in part was due to left fielder Alejandro Castillo, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Columbia is second in the Premier A with a record of 19-14.
Enrique Correa was a key contributor to the win for the River Rats. In the top of the sixth with two out, the light-hitting designated hitter stroked a single to right. He was 1 for 4.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Castillo. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
