Generals Squelch Gwinnett County Offense in Shutout Win
|
Washington Generals starter Baruc Garibay was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Gwinnett County Black Cats, 4-0. Garibay went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-1. Washington is 11-17 and Gwinnett County, with the loss, 15-13.
Washington center fielder Dennis Barraclough helped the Generals go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Barraclough hit a run-scoring single off Gwinnett County pitcher Jeff Greer.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Garibay told reporters after the game.
