Getting a good performance from pinch hitter Zachary Burriss, the Yellowknife Dragonblood defeated the Nebraska Plainsmen, 8-1. Burriss went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Dragonblood. Yellowknife reliever Manuel Torres was credited with the win, to go to 5-0. Jim Unknown took the loss for Nebraska. Yellowknife goes to 16-7, Nebraska to 11-12.
The Dragonblood got a big at-bat from Miguel Herrera. For the game, Herrera went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 15th hit of the season gave Yellowknife a 3-1 lead.
Herrera attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
