Downing Hits 2 home runs in Stingers Win
The Toledo Stingers downed the Buckhead Bowties, 5-4, at Pacesetter Park. The Stingers were led by John Downing, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Víctor García, who went 8.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 2-1. Brandeis Vogt nailed down his 5th save.

Toledo took a 5-3 lead on Downing's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Germán Rodríguez in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Toledo to the win.

Buckhead, at 4-11, is off to a poor start in 2026.
