U-21 Squelch South Beach Offense in Shutout Win
Gabriel Reyes never let the South Beach Blaze find their groove. Throughout the game, Reyes relied on his bread and butter, his forkball, in pitching the U-21 to a win. Reyes, now 3-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. The U-21 bumped their record to 11-9 with this latest triumph.

Athletic Club KC took a 4-0 lead on Jesús Vargas's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off South Beach pitcher Rob Ford in the top of the seventh.

"I like our moxie," said Athletic Club KC U-21 manager Juan Medellín.
