Athletic Club KC beat South Beach at The Ballpark on the Beach, eking out a 6-3 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Jesús Vargas, who earned player of the game honors. The Blaze fall to 7-12 and continue their uneven start to the 2026 season.

Also having an impact was third baseman Andrés Medina, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third for Athletic Club KC. For the game, Medina went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Vargas.
