Cauldrons Win, Hope to Turn around Slow Start
Getting a good performance from catcher Larry O'Morgan, the Hogsmeade Cauldrons defeated the Athletic Club KC U-21, 7-4. O'Morgan was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Cauldrons. Fred Gunther got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Bradley Roth closed the game out for Hogsmeade, earning his 2nd save.

Hogsmeade shortstop Paul O'Neill helped the Cauldrons go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the game tied, O'Neill hit a run-scoring single off Athletic Club KC pitcher Ernesto Lucero.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Athletic Club KC manager Juan Medellín. "But we decided not to take it."

The U-21 fall to 5-8 and continue their uneasy start to the 2026 season.
