River Rats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Cauldrons
Getting a good performance from third baseman Gil Simmons, the Columbia River Rats defeated the Hogsmeade Cauldrons, 7-6. Simmons went 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the River Rats. Columbia reliever Jim Unknown was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Kevin McCrary took the loss. The loss drops Hogsmeade to 1-6.

Alejandro Castillo was the walk-off hero for Columbia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Columbia left fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
