Matsuura Excels in Mancelona Win
Benefiting from the performance of Yataro Matsuura, the Mancelona Torch defeated the Syracuse Storm, 14-0. Matsuura went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Torch. Mancelona starter Tomás Vargas was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 13-4. Mancelona currently is in 4th place in the Silver A at 58-38.

Bob Mager took Heyg Lamper deep with no one out in the bottom of the second. On a 1-0 changeup, Mager drilled a grand slam home run to right. It was his 4th home run of the season and put Mancelona on top, 4-0.
