Tula Defeat Dragoons, 5-3
|
The Louisiana Dragoons got a superb performance from pitcher Alfredo Velásquez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Tula won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Velásquez was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. Joseph Chartier earned the save for Chicago, his 23rd of the year. Chicago now sits in 5th place in the Silver A at 55-41.
Jim Unknown contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat that helped Chicago get the win.
In postgame remarks, Unknown said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
