Hotspur U-21 Squelch Niagara Falls Offense in Shutout Win
|
It was a fun time at Hotspur Kiddie Complex, where the Niagara Falls Expos and Phoenix Hotspur U-21 tangled.
Maru Pao Pao never let the Niagara Falls Expos find their groove. Throughout the game, Pao Pao, who is rated as the 97th best prospect by BNN, relied on his bread and butter, his slider, in pitching the Hotspur U-21 to a win. Lorenzo Ventura was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Hieronymus Bosch contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat that helped send Phoenix to the win.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Phoenix manager Rudy Hankins.
The Expos have now dropped 5 straight.
