Loss to Bulls Extends Syracuse Losing Streak
Mt. Vernon and Syracuse met at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon in front of a lively crowd.

The Mt. Vernon Bulls eeked out a 5-0 win versus the Syracuse Storm at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Fuentes, who captured player of the game honors. Fuentes, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs.

António López went 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Mt. Vernon. The 20-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. That's when he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run double off Ryan Dull. It was his 11th double of the season.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Mt. Vernon Bulls manager Ricardo García. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
