Thrilling Victory Pushes Jets Win Streak to 5
|
José López was superb against Niagara Falls. López, who is tied for 7th in the SA in innings pitched with 113.2, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. Kennesaw reliever Hakan Yilmanz was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Mannus Dijkman took the loss for Niagara Falls. Kennesaw goes to 29-40, Niagara Falls to 28-41.
Kennesaw won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. That's when first baseman Buck Bettis hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Jets fans to their feet.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Bettis said in his postgame press conference.
