The Ft. Worth Cattlemen picked up a win at Rangers Stadium, knocking off the Austin Rangers, 2-1. On the mound for Ft. Worth was right-hander Nicholas Wells, who played a pivotal role in the win. Juan Sánchez earned his 1st save in 2 tries. With the loss, Austin drops to 5-5.
Ft. Worth grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases empty, Joey Morgan delivered a solo home run, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Cattlemen.
"I like to lead by example," said Wells. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
