Second Baseman Ohara hits 2 home runs in Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from the former first round draft pick Munemori Ohara helped the Northern Virginia Retrievers beat the Grafton Middies, 13-3. Yin-fat Foong earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts. Northern Virginia, now 3-6, is off to a slow start.
Shohei Kiyomizu's at-bat in the top of the ninth was significant for the Retrievers. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Northern Virginia leading 10-3, the center fielder hit a bases-clearing double.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Kiyomizu told reporters after the game.
