The Mancelona Torch eeked out a 2-1 win versus the Syracuse Storm at Storm Park. Nobody did more than pitcher John Castle, who captured player of the game honors. Mancelona reliever Arturo Guerrero picked up the win to move to 1-1. Raúl Díaz suffered the loss. Ramiro Elizondo recorded his 1st save for Mancelona.
Todd Sentell was a key contributor to the win for the Torch. In the top of the eighth with one out, the light-hitting designated hitter stroked a single to center. He went 1 for 4.
"We came out with the short end of the stick," said Syracuse skipper Chad Hess.
This loss makes it 6 in a row for Syracuse.
