Expos Win at Put-In-Bay, 3-2

Niagara Falls pitcher Santo Velazco did his part in helping his team beat the Put-In-Bay BC, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Velazco, now 3-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 8. At 11-21, the Expos find themselves in 9th place in the Silver A.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the second inning when the Expos sent teenager Mark Armstead to the plate against BC hurler Benjamin Busto. With a runner on 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-2 fastball to score 1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Velazco told the Niagara Falls Observer.
