Kennesaw Edges Mt. Vernon, 1-0, Unknown Ks 12
|
The Kennesaw Jets got a stellar performance from pitcher Jim Unknown, who handcuffed the Mt. Vernon offense en route to a 1-0 win at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon. Hakan Yilmanz, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. The Jets improved to 10-22.
Unknown tossed 122 pitches over 8 innings to clinch the win for the Jets. The right-hander allowed just 5 hits, while racking up 12 strikeouts in the game.
In comments to the Kennesaw Chronicle, Unknown admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
