The Middies had to overcome a fine effort from Northern Virginia pitcher Natalino Golaio to grab a 6-3 win at Field of the Middies. Golaio went 5.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Grafton reliever Truman Valentine was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Henry Hall took the loss for Northern Virginia. With the loss, Northern Virginia falls to 2-5.

Grafton took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Ramón Gómez stroked a 2-run double to make it 5-3, Middies.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Gómez said after the game.
