The Louisiana Dragoons eeked out a 6-4 win versus the Syracuse Storm at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher António Andrade, who captured player of the game honors. Andrade went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-0. Alfredo Velásquez earned the save, his 2nd, for the Dragoons.
There was more than one reason the Dragoons beat the Storm, but one factor was Harry Gibson. In the bottom of the fourth, the Louisiana center fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run home run. It staked his team to a 4-2 lead.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Gibson.
The Dragoons, now 18-3, have won 5 in a row.
