Alfaro Helps BC Run Win Streak to 4
|
Getting a good performance from second baseman Francisco Alfaro, the Put-In-Bay BC defeated the Louisiana Dragoons, 9-3. Alfaro went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the BC. Benjamin Busto got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Losses have been few and far between for the Dragoons, who are now 13-3.
Alfaro came through with some timely hitting for Put-In-Bay. With the score 1-0 in the top of the fourth and no one down, Alfaro hit a 1-1 curveball for a run-scoring double. It was his 3rd double of the season -- and a big reason the BC managed to win.
"We found a way to get it done," Alfaro said.
