The Northern Virginia Retrievers got a sterling performance from pitcher Ángel Navarro, but the 1837 BBC still prevailed, 3-2. Navarro was named the player of the game in a losing cause. A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fourth, with the game tied, Damian Delaney was at the plate when Houston scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the 1837 BBC to go in front, 2-1.
Delaney called the triumph "a good team win."
