López Brilliant as Herons Top Guzzlers
Hammond Herons starter José López turned in a top-notch performance against the Galesburg Guzzlers at The Heron Refuge. The result was a win for the Herons, 4-1. Esteban Jiménez closed it out for his 20th save. The Herons saw their record improve to 46-32.

López's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. López, who is tied for 8th in the 3A in wins with 7, goes to 7-3 on the year with 123 strikeouts.

"I liked his command," said Hammond manager Ricardo Martínez. "José was throwing strikes."
