Guzzlers Suffer 8-3 Loss to Herons
Behind a solid performance from catcher Rubén Aracil, the Hammond Herons defeated the Galesburg Guzzlers, 8-3. Aracil went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Herons. Alberto Mendoza, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 10. His record now stands at 9-4. Hammond now has a 3-game win streak.

Aracil had a game-changing double in the bottom of the second. On a 1-1 fastball from Mike McKay, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Herons a 2-0 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Aracil.

Galesburg manager Roberto Ybarra said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
