Chukars Get 6-4 Win Versus Belleville
|
The Belleville Bulls and Idaho Falls Chukars provided some drama at Idaho Falls Park.
The Belleville Bulls were defeated, 6-4, by the Idaho Falls Chukars. Leading the charge for Idaho Falls was shortstop Christian Gentry. He went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Idaho Falls reliever Miguel Hernández was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Jesús Garces.
The Chukars beat the Bulls in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Alejandro Herrera produced in the bottom of the fourth. Batting against Belleville pitcher Jesús Garces, he gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Gentry.
The 9th-place Chukars improved to 27-34.
