|
Delaware overcame a superlative game from Kanakanui Lokomaikainani to beat Hammond, 2-1. The Hammond pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Will Hoffman, credited with the win, is now 7-2. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits in 7 innings. Getting the save was Doppo Omikado, his 13th.
Delaware left fielder Ward Wilberfoss helped the 1787 BC go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Wilberfoss hit a run-scoring triple off Hammond pitcher Kanakanui Lokomaikainani.
