Bruins Knock Off Galesburg at Bellevue Field

The Bellevue Bruins got a strong performance from pitcher Cisco Cazares, who stymied the Galesburg offense en route to a 3-2 win at Bellevue Field. The winning pitcher was Cazares, now 3-4. He tossed 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Earning his 2nd save for Bellevue was Jin Kwon.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Bruins sent teenager Aurelio Jiménez to the plate against Guzzlers hurler Song-saeng Kim. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a first pitch fastball to score 1.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Galesburg manager Roberto Ybarra.
The Bruins go to 25-22, putting them 4th in the Menard's A.
