Getting a good performance from third baseman Willis Kirkendall, the Galesburg Guzzlers defeated the Belleville Bulls, 8-1. Kirkendall hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Guzzlers. Gerald Keller got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The win puts the Guzzlers at 16-19, while the Bulls drop to 14-21.

Kirkendall had a key at-bat for Galesburg early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Galesburg an early 2-0 lead.
