Herons Turn Back York, 2-1

The Hammond Herons went home winners at York Park, thanks in large part to starter Chad Li. Li silenced the York Revolution, enabling Hammond to grab the 2-1 win. Li was the winning pitcher and moves to 1-0. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Kris Ross earned the save for Hammond, his 3rd of the year.
Jean Lechuga broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the second with a run-scoring single. It put the Herons in front, 2-1. For the game, Lechuga went 1 for 3.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Lechuga.
The Herons sit in 7th place in the Menard's A with a record of 16-17.
