Guzzlers Top Hawks to Even Record
The Galesburg Guzzlers grabbed a 4-3 win over the Highwood Hawks at Hawks Field. Galesburg catcher Toussiant L'Ouverture was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times to earn player of the game honors. Galesburg reliever Marcus Blakely got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Stanley Eldrige was tagged with the loss. Geoff Stackhouse closed the game out for Galesburg, earning his 11th save.

The Guzzlers beat the Hawks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Lee Allen produced in the top of the fifth. Batting against Highwood pitcher Stanley Eldrige, he gave his team a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"We take it day by day here," said L'Ouverture, "and today was a good one for us."

Galesburg, now 14-14, holds 6th place in the Menard's A.
