Piranhas Rally For Late Win Over Express
|
The Wizarding Express got a superb performance from pitcher Ralph McKinney, but the Piranhas still won the game, 6-5. McKinney was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The second-place Piranhas have won 4 straight games.
In the top of the 8th, first baseman Baldomero Avino gave Panama City the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Piranhas had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out home run off Wizarding pitcher Juan Cantú changed that -- and Panama City went on to win.
Avino said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
