Bruins Win at Idaho Falls, 7-2
|
Bellevue beat Idaho Falls at Idaho Falls Park, eking out a 7-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Wilson Longoria, who earned player of the game honors. Longoria, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Bellevue goes to 14-10, Idaho Falls to 12-12.
Bellevue grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the third when Mitchell Cusimano hit a run-scoring double. For the day, Cusimano went 1-3 with a double and was hit 2 times.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Longoria.
